Saturday, 17 January 2015 marked the 125th anniversary of the sending of the first Salvatorian missionaries outside of Europe.
Four members of the Society were sent to Assam, India by our Founder, Fr. Francis Jordan, where the seeds of knowledge of the Savior were planted with great difficulty but eventually flourished with tremendous success. To mark the occasion, Fr. Milton Zonta SDS, General Superior, proclaimed 2015 to be the Salvatorian Missionary Year as a way to give new energy to our efforts to be sent out to make the Savior known. To celebrate the beginning of this event, members of all three branches of the Salvatorian Family in Rome along with our collaborators from SOFIA and Support Services gathered at the Motherhouse for a joyful and moving celebration. Here we present some photos of the day.
