The XX General Chapter is closer and closer. There is time of the major meetings in the Society. The administrative unit meetings (chapters) will take place in every unit that is electing delegates for the July’s chapter in Krakow. This time there was a meeting in Fribourg, Switzerland. It united members of the Pancratius Pfeiffer Mission Vicariate. The members of the Vicariate has chosen, according to the rules, one delegate for the general chapter.
The election of the delegates is not the only activity during chapters. It is also a possibility to discuss the most important topics that the daily religious life is bringing.
Two days of if Fribourg gathered members from Italian and Swiss communities and from Gurtweil (Germany). By the country of birth, they were from Congo, Germany, Italy, Netherlands Poland and Switzerland.
Fribourg is a town in the west Switzerland with a population of about 40,000.
It is the capital of the Swiss canton of Fribourg and district of La Sarine. Located on both sides of the major river of Switzerland Sarine. The city is an economic, administrative and educational centre on the cultural border between German and French speaking Switzerland. The Old City is situated on a small rocky hill above the valley of the Sarine.
The Salvatorians presence in Fribourg started in 1894.
The community beside other activities, takes care of the parish in Tafers, where was the first tomb of Blessed Francis Mary of the Cross Jordan. There are still two Salvatorians there, who were witnesses of the transfer of the relics of our Fonder in 1956 to Rome. The relics of the blessed Francis are now in the renovated chapel in the Motherhouse in Rome. To see more, please click here.
