✝ CRISPIN TSHIPANG MBAY SDS

He was 59 years old and had been professed for 33 years.


 

Fr. Crispin Tshipang Mbay

Father Crispin Tshipang Mbay was born in Kisangani on May 8, 1966. He was the son of Mbay (father) and Manyong (mother), who are still alive. He was the fourth of eight children. He attended primary school in Kinshasa EP/BOSEMB0 and secondary school at the Wikong Institute in Wikong, where he obtained a diploma in Mathematics and Physics. He did his postulancy with the Salvatorians from 1990 to 1991 in Tshabula/Kolwezi. After completing his Novitiate in 1992, he professed first vows on September 29, 1992, and his perpetual vows on September 29, 1999, in Tshabula/Kolwezi. 

He completed Philosophy studies in 1995 and theology in 2000 at the Blessed John XXIII Franciscan Scholasticate in Kolwezi. He was ordained a priest on July 29, 2000. He served in various parish apostolates in various sites around  the pro-province as well as a professor and prefect at the Muungaji Institute in Sandoa. His final assignment was vicar at St. Abraham Parish, Lubumbashi from 2019 until his final journey. He died sitting in his easy chair on 20 January 2026 at 59 years of age, professed for 33 years, and a priest for 25 years.
