Requiescant In Pace

I am the Resurrection and the Life; whoever lives and believes in me shall never die.
John 11:25

Let us remember our deceased confrere in gratitude and prayer.

Our Divine Saviour has called into eternal life

RIP: 12/09/2024 - Northumberland

Fr. Giorgio (George) Malecki was born on 11 May 1951 and entered the Society as a novice in September 1968. He professed his first vows as a Salvatorian on 26 September 1969. He completed his studies for ordination at Heythrop College – both at Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire and Cavendish Square, central London. Following ordination on 1 May 1976, he served as an Assistant Priest at St. Saviour’s, Abbots Langley, St. Peter’s, Noctorum, Christ the King, Thornbury and St. Joseph’s, Wealdstone. In October 1989, he was appointed Parish Priest at St Henry’s, Burnham Market, where he remained until October 1993. This was followed by a twenty-one-year term of office at St Augustine’s Castlefields, Runcorn. His next (and final) appointment was to Christ the King, Thornbury, where he was pastor from September 2016 until his death. Fr. Giorgio was very talented – particularly in practical skills – building, plumbing, electrics, computers, and the like. He used to play the guitar, either to enliven school assemblies, to accompany the confreres on retreat, or as a member of various folk groups. His sudden death, on 12th September 2024, while on holiday, came as a complete shock to his family and the British Pro-province. He was 73 years old and had been a Salvatorian for almost 55 years.

Founder's Thoughts

As long as there is one person on earth who does not know God and does not love God above all things, you dare not allow yourself a moment’s rest.
