RIP: 1/1/2023 - Bystra

Fr. Tadeusz Słonina was born on 23 November 1952 in Tokarnia. From his childhood on, a priestly vocation was born in him, and contact with Salvatorians from neighbouring towns gave him the desire to enter the apostolic work of Blessed Francis Jordan. After his primary and secondary studies, he was admitted to the novitiate on 7 September 1972 in Bagno, which he completed on 8 September 1973, professing his first vows as a Salvatorian. After completing his studies of philosophy and theology at the Salvatorian seminary in Bagno, he was ordained priest on 21 April 1979 in the Basilica of St. Hedwig in Trzebnica. As a new priest he worked in a few parishes, but soon the community of Bagno became his apostolic field for the next 19 years, where he served as bursar. After almost two decades in the seminary in Bagno, from 2004 Father Tadeusz took over the pastoral service in various parishes and accompanied the Lay Salvatorians in their formation. In the meantime, he almost always took on the service of local bursar in the community where he lived. He always kept pastorally very active, as long as he could, and his health allowed so. Gradually his health deteriorated, so much so that on 1 January 2023, at the age of 70, Fr. Tadeusz passed away. He had been a Salvatorian for 50 years.
