Fr. Alfons Minas

RIP: 15/09/2020 - Steinfeld

Fr. Alfons Minas was born on 12 July 1937 at Erbringen. After having finished his professional formation as a steel work smith he worked a few years as a toolmaker. In 1958 he decided to join the Society, wherefore he first had to finish his secondary studies at Steinfeld. He did his noviciate in Passau where he also professed his first vows in the Society of the Divine Saviour through the North German Province on 1 May 1963. After the ordinary studies requested by the Church to become a priest, he was ordained on the Feast of the Apostles, St. Peter and St. Paul, 29 June 1968 in Passau. Fr. Alfons worked initially in the pastoral field of the parish, but the biggest part of his apostolic life, he was engaged in education as the director of the Pedagogical Institute in Klausheide. Also, he was two terms of office the Superior of the North German Province. During his last pastorally active period, he engaged as a pastor at the Clemens Hospital in Münster. Due to health reasons, Fr. Alfons lived since 2019 in the community of Steinfeld, where he died on 15 September 2020.
