Fr. Terrence (Terry) Cantwell

RIP: 08/08/2020 - Dublin

Fr. Terrence (Terry) Cantwell was born in Woolwich on 5 September 1937. He joined the Society of the Divine Saviour professing his first religious vows on the Feast of Mater Salvatoris, 11 October 1956. After completing his studies at Christleton Hall, Chester, he was ordained to the priesthood in St. Joseph´s Church, Wealdstone on 7 April 1962. Shortly after ordination he volunteered for the Missions and was sent to our recently established Mission in Southern Tanzania. His main apostolate in the mission was parish work for almost 47 years. In 2009 he returned to England, where he continued to work in the parish of Chipperfield. In the last years of his life, he was getting more and more physically frail, but always very strong mentally. Fr. Terrence died on 8 August 2020 in Dublin, Ireland. He was 82 years old and had been professed for 63 years.
