The participants started the meeting today with great joy upon receiving a “gamosa” from the members of the Indian Vicariate. This hand-woven shawl from Assam is given to important visitors as a sign of welcome and honor.
The rest of the day was spent in the hard work of considering changes to Chapter 7 of our Constitution and General Directory. An ad hoc committee established for this purpose by Fr. Milton prepared the proposed changes. They were carefully considered and debated under the direction of Fr. Piet Cuijpers, chair of the committee. The participants gave valuable feedback and affirmed the vast majority of the proposed changes during this first reading. The ad hoc committee will take into consideration the comments and suggestions in order to prepare a second draft for the Generalate with view toward the XIX General Chapter.
