The Ongoing Formation Commission of the Congo Pro Province organized three conferences in Lubumbashi and Kolwezi to mark the Salvatorian Missionary Year declared by Fr. Milton Zonta, Superior General for 2015.
The first conference took place on 07 February 2015 and addressed the “History of the Salvatorian Mission in the World” examining the sending of the first missionaries to Assam, the expansion of the apostolates of the Society onto five continents and the presence of the Salvatorian mission in the Congo. The second conference took place on 21 March 2015 with the topic “Development and our Works” in which the different aspects of development including health, education, cultural, social and agricultural were addressed in relation to diocesan projects administered by Salvatorians on the one hand and those projects pertaining to Salvatorians on the other. The last conference took place on 06 June 2015 and examined “Salvatorian Spirituality” based on Jn. 17:3 noting that Christ is our model and center, the Savior’s being is our being, the action of salvation is our action, Christ’s methodology is ours, and His universal love is attached to the Cross and Divine Providence under the tenderness and maternal aide of the Virgin Mary.
All three conferences involved the three branches of the Salvatorian Family engaged in a pleasant ambience of dialogue, questions and answers.
