RIP: 21/07/2020 - Lubumbashi
Fr. Emmanuel Ntumba Nyamazumbi was born in Kolwezi (RD-Congo) on the feast day of Saint Theresa of Avila, 15 October 1967. After having finished his secondary studies and a period of postulancy, he entered novitiate at the “ferme Randu”, which was concluded by profession of his vows on 29 September 1993. He studied Philosophy and Theology at the Franciscan John XXIII Seminary in Kolwezi. He received the presbyteral ordination on 14 July 2001 at Lubumbashi. Fr. Emmanuel, also known under the nickname “Papa Emma” was apostolically active in education, formation and in parishes. He was for 9 years a very dedicated and precise treasurer of the Congo Mission Pro-Province. After a short period of illness, he died unexpectedly in the Don Bosco Hospital at Lubumbashi, on 21 July 2020.
